Windows
“In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life…all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.” (Genesis 7:11)
This passage in Genesis has always captivated me. We see rain every day, yet we never think of it as the windows of heaven opening. This is the precise description that the author of Genesis uses to depict the rainfall that led to earth’s flooding. There was so much rainfall that it covered colossal mountaintops. From the earth’s perspective, it was overwhelming. The truth is:
The last time the windows of heaven opened up the earth did not have enough room to receive it.
As I reflected on this my mind went immediately to Malachi 3:10. My wife and I are tithers. There are those who think this practice is an Old Testament concept. We discovered one thing: It works!!! We love giving because we know it means God can trust us as stewards. Giving emanates naturally from the fact that you don’t have enough room to receive what you get. Lord continue to open the windows. More than that, continue to make us all givers as our cups run over.

Thanks Brother Richards am blessed by this simply yet profound truth. Keep it up!
